*Included: Accommodation on the train, all meals, all drinks on board, room service, limited laundry, guided excursions (if applicable), entrance fees as per itinerary, golf green fees, carts, halfway house meals, water, and tea/coffee.
*Excluded: "If it's not specifically included, then it's excluded." This includes off-train drinks, international sparkling wine/French Champagne, tips/gratuities, personal expenses, visas, travel insurance, pre and post-tour transfers, accommodation, and flights.
Choose Your Suite
Rovos Rail offers three superb suite types. For a 9-night journey with golf clubs, we highly recommend the Deluxe or Royal suites for the extra storage space.
Pullman Suite
Size: 7 sq metres (76 sq ft)
- En-suite bathroom with shower
- Daytime sofa converts to bed
Deluxe Suite
Size: 10 sq metres (108 sq ft)
- En-suite bathroom with shower
- Permanent bed & private lounge area
Royal Suite
Size: 16 sq metres (172 sq ft)

The 10-Day Golf Safari Itinerary
Days 1 - 3: Pretoria, Sun City & Leisure
- Day 1: 12:00 Depart the private Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria.
- Day 2 (Golf): Transfer (±60 min) to Sun City’s Gary Player or Lost City Golf Course for tee off and lunch.
- Day 3: A day at leisure on board the train, enjoying the spectacular South African landscapes and world-class dining.
Days 4 - 5: The Drakensberg & Durban Coast
- Day 4 (Golf): Breakfast is served in the dining cars until departure. Transfer (±60 min) to the Champagne Sports Resort for tee off and lunch in the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains.
- Day 5 (Golf): Continental breakfast is served. Transfer to the coastal Durban Country Club (±15 min) OR Mt Edgecombe (±20 min) OR Cotswold Downs (±30 min) for tee off and lunch.
Days 6 - 7: KwaZulu-Natal Safari & eSwatini
- Day 6: Disembark for an early morning game drive in the renowned Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park to spot the Big Five.
- Day 7 (Golf): Cross the border into the Kingdom of eSwatini. Breakfast is served in the dining cars before transferring (±90 min) to the Royal Swazi Sun for tee off and lunch.
Days 8 - 10: Kruger Park, Highland Gate & Return
- Day 8 (Golf): Bordering the Kruger National Park. If available, golf at the incredibly exclusive Leopard Creek may be booked on request (for your own account). Otherwise, enjoy a game drive in the Kruger Park.
- Day 9 (Golf): Breakfast is served. Transfer (±40 min) into the mountains to Highland Gate for tee off and lunch.
- Day 10: The journey concludes as the train arrives back at Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria.
Good to Know The Non-Golfer Leisure Programme
Travelling with a partner who does not play golf? Rovos Rail provides a fully dedicated parallel itinerary for non-golfing guests. While you are on the course, they will enjoy guided game drives, historic battlefield tours, and cultural excursions, reuniting with you on the train for dinner.
