Vaal River Wine Route Flights

The Vaal River Meander Wine Route will be open every Saturday, Sunday and public holidays starting from the 13th of July until the 18th of August 2013. A number of venues around the Vaal have been selected to showcase the wines from over 50 of the best South African wine estates. What makes this event different is that visitors can move from venue to venue in a number of different ways - be it by vintage car, house boat, limousine, luxury cruiser, helicopter, wine route taxi, speedboat, donkey cart, water-taxi, tour-bus or car. For only R20 per person guests will receive tastings of at least 8 different premier wines.

Durban to Johannesburg prices

Mango is running a Happy Day Sale until the 22nd of June 2013, and for this reason they offered the cheapest flight when we compared travel prices from Durban to Johannesburg (all prices will change). Shosholoza Meyl's train fares have increased by 6% since the last survey done on this route but they continue to be the most affordable travel option regardless of this. Travellers to Johannesburg should be sure to book their car hire with Car Trawler, who offered the best rates for a weekend's rental. Please note that all prices could change.

Car Trawler is cheapest in Johannesburg

We compared car hire prices at OR Tambo Airport with pick up and drop off from 21h00 on Friday the 12th of July 2013 until 13h00 on Sunday the 14th July 2013. Car Trawler was the cheapest, offering a Kia Picanto or similar at R340 for the weekend's rental when we checked. Please note that prices may change.
