Flight prices have increased significantly since the last survey done on this route. Mango displayed the cheapest flight when we checked, offering a one way flight at R806 per person (prices will change). The bus prices have however, remained fairly constant, with Shosholoza Meyl continuing to offer the most affordable option with their economy class train fare at R130 for a trip from Johannesburg to Durban (prices will change). Those needing transport in Durban should make sure that they check Car Trawler for the best car hire rates from King Shaka Airport.

The 2013 Indaba will take place at the Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban Central from the 11th to the 14th of May 2013. This tourism marketing event will display the best tourism products and attractions from Southern Africa over the 4 days. Car Trawler cheapest at King Shaka Airport
Car Trawler displayed the cheapest car rental we found when we compared car hire at Durban Airport from 21h00 on Friday the 10th of May 2013 until 13h00 on Sunday the 12th of May 2013. A Kia Picanto or similar will cost R340 for the weekend, with 200 kilometres a day included. Please note that prices will change.
