If you're too lazy to in too much of a hurry to drive then why not fly from East London to Port Elizabeth. You've even got options - Blue Crane Air or SA Airlink. Blue Crane Air has been providing much-need competition on the flight route since February 2013. And that's it, the route simply isn't busy enough for too many airlines to be flying it.
Expect small planes and high flight prices, as the ELS-PLZ flight route does not enjoy the kind of passenger demand that, for instance, a Johannesburg to Cape Town flight does (the 10th busiest flight route in the world!).
